Setting up your WordPress blog should be exciting, not daunting. So grab a drink, kick back and relax and follow our quick and easy guide to get your new website up and running as quickly as possible!
Step #1. Purchase a domain name
Your main priority should be finding a domain name that reflects you/your brand. Most domain names typically cost approximately $9.99/year for a traditional dot-com. I highly suggest registering your domain name through Namecheap. Additionally, some webhost providers will give you a free domain name with your hosting package.
Step #2. Purchase a hosting plan
For the utmost performance and security, you’ll want to sign up with a reliable hosting provider. I recommend using StableHost (our site is hosted on StableHost) for as low as $3.50/month.
Step #3. Connect your domain name and hosting.
Ask your hosting provider to provide you with the Nameservers/DNS information for your website. Insert the given Nameservers into your domain name registrar account. This will associate your domain name with your hosting account.
Note: You can skip this step altogether if you purchased your domain name through your hosting company.
Step #4. Install WordPress
Most hosting companies offer an easy way to install WordPress in 5 minutes or less. If you’re using StableHost, you can install WordPress easily (one-click-install) with the softaculous software located in your the cPanel. This is often the same for other hosting companies.
Step #5. Purchase a WordPress Theme
Now that your new WordPress blog is live, it’s time to make your site look as lovely as you are. Browse our shop and pick a theme that you find fits your brand perfectly.
