With Thanksgiving right around the corner, I thought it would be appropriate to do a what I’m thankful for blog post. But not just any thankful post, in this post I will share with you my top 10 reasons why I’m so thankful for WordPress, and why you should be too!
#1. It’s free and open source
WordPress is free in two different ways — you pay nothing to use the platform and it’s a completely open source project that supports the growth of users worldwide. Open source software means you have the freedom to use, modify, build upon and redistribute the software how you see fit.
#2. It’s super simple
Because the platform is free, it’s super simple and easy to get started. All you need to do is install it and you’re all set! So many different websites are powered by WordPress now, because it’s so user-friendly. You don’t have to be a developer or a designer to use it.
#3. Totally compatible
WordPress is a great choice when it comes to connecting to other platforms and adding functionality. It can be easily integrated with other platforms and ecommerce stores.
#4. Endless customization
There are so many different WordPress themes available on the market — both free and premium. Most themes allow you to change the font, color, and make the theme totally your own. There’s also a ton of plugins available.
#5. Optimal SEO
WordPress makes it super easy for search engines to crawl your website and determine the context of your site for web searches. This is important if you’re a new business just getting started and hoping to grow your web traffic.
#6. Great support
WordPress is a community project and naturally has a great support community. If you search online, you will find a limitless supply of WordPress forums and communities that provide advice for any issue you may be experiencing. There are also many resources available to help you learn and become more proficient at using the platform.
7. It’s responsive
With so many people accessing the Internet via mobile devices, it’s super important that your site is responsive. Thankfully most themes developed with WordPress are designed to be automatically responsive.
WordPress is such a secure platform — this helps prevent hackers and scammers from accessing your information and website. There are several security plugins you can install to make your site even more secure.
9. Easy site management
Once your site is up and running, you’ll need to manage it. This includes things like adding new content. WordPress has a simple dashboard that is easy to navigate and figure out how to use. You’ll also receive an email whenever there’s an update so you won’t be caught off guard.
10. Keeps getting better
Being the largest and most effective community, WordPress is evolving day-by-day to improve its user friendly interface and features. WordPress regularly enhances its system with improvements, new features and customization options.
If you want to develop a great website and/or blog, WordPress just makes sense.
So why are you thankful for WordPress? We would love to hear!
